Hello again to St. Bernard School! I am very happy to be back at my home parish and at St Bernard School as teacher and principal. It has been a very busy year and time has really flown by. We have incorporated many new ideas in teaching and are continuing to fine tune them. We have instituted various clubs and re-instituted choir. Life is good. We are very fortunate to have supportive parents and a dedicated talented staff.
I would just like to reintroduce myself to you. I am blessed to have my wonderful husband whom I have been married to for just short of 28 years. We have three children, Kyle our son, works for Studer-Obringer Inc. in construction. Our daughter, Hannah, is working for an energy company in Pittsburgh and our youngest daughter, Willa, is an eighth grader here at St. Bernard.
This is my 19th year in Catholic education. I have always taught Science and through the years a little bit of everything else. My Bachelor’s degree is in Education with an area of concentration in Science and I did some undergraduate research in Math. I recently completed a dual Master’s degree in Education and Geography through the LEADERS Program at the University of Toledo. I am currently pursuing obtaining my principals license through Lourdes University.
Before I became a teacher I was honored to serve in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. I had various duties as a corpsman, sick call, ambulance duty and education and training officer. I was able to take more training and at my last duty station I was an Aviation Physiology Technician and Water Survival Trainer. This experience has served me well in the teaching profession.
I am also involved in the parish. I am a sacristan, which is the person that sets up for Mass, and I also lector and distribute. I enjoy serving the parish in this manner and hope to continue doing so. Please feel free to stop in at school and say hello. I teach in the morning, Science and Math, and principal in the afternoon.
