Dear St. Bernard Families,
There will not be school on Monday, October 10th. The teachers will be participating in a retreat in the morning, then in a Math professional development and will end the day learning how to use the Skills Navigator, which is connected to our NWEA MAP testing, to focus the learning skills each child needs to meet their learning goals.
The older students will also be using their test results to set goals for the next testing period which will be in January. They will look at their test results and the areas that they need to improve and will make a plan to grow in that area. They may choose to do more Math practice or read a more challenging book. It is our hope that goal setting will stay with them when they transition into high school.
Can We Colonize Mars? – This is our next whole school project. K-2 will be designing spacesuits, 3-5 will be designing biospheres and 6-8 will be the mission designers. We are planning on having Mr. Willis and Mr. Zborowski from NASA Plum Brook, Father Eric and a representative from the Diocese of Toledo to serve on our panel of experts on the 25th of October.
North Auburn Harvest Festival – Mr. Heydinger and the students did an amazing job at the Harvest Festival. If you missed it, look at our Facebook page, St. Bernard School, New Washington.
We hope that you have a wonderful long weekend.
Peace to you and yours,
