Dear St. Bernard Families,

Our first midterms went home which should give you some evidence to how your child is doing in school.  The problem with the very first midterm is that your child is still adjusting to being back at school and the number of grades taken can be lower than normal or only one test being taken in a particular subject.  There is plenty of time for your child to bring up their grades if they need to.

Our First Lego League is going to begin in October.  We have not received the materials for the Junior team and we are still working on registration of students.  I sent an invitation to the parents of interested students, please let me know whether you have received them.  If you follow the directions on that form you should have no problem applying to the program.  K-4 is Jr.FLL, 5-8 is FLL.

Can We Colonize Mars? – This is our next whole school project.  K-2 will be designing spacesuits, 3-5 will be designing biospheres and 6-8 will be the mission designers.  We are planning on having Mr. Willis and Mr. Zborowski from NASA Plum Brook, Father Eric and, if possible, a representative from the diocese will serve on the panel that will be held.

North Auburn Harvest Festival – The school children will be performing this Sunday at the Harvest Festival.  Your child should have brought a paper home with the time and dress.  Hope to see you there!!!!

Picture Day – Your child may dress up for picture day.  They may not wear jeans but they do not have to be in their campus wear.

After School Clubs – ***Clarification on Club Pick-up***  Club pick up will be from the breezeway doors.  The teacher in charge of the club will release the students.  Once all of the students are released I will walk them to the area between the breezeway and church for release to parents.  Also, after discussing release times with the teachers, we will go back to the 4:00 release time.

First Lego League Competition – The materials for FLL have arrived and we will begin building on tech days, both in the classroom and after school.

Testing – We just have a few stragglers to finish up tests and a few students who were absent during a test.

Peace to you and yours,

Mary Obringer
