Dear St. Bernard Families,

Coming home today is a permission slip to visit Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in Carey.  We will need drivers, please consider signing up. It is our goal to have two field trips for each class this year, be on the look-out for more information about upcoming trips.

I will be contacting three families to be “reunified” after our functional drill.  They will be picking up their children and heading back to St. Bernard. It is important to make the changes to your preferred modes of contact.

I am hoping to see everyone at the 175th Celebration this Sunday starting with Mass at 12:00, then food and activities later.

Option C - We have updated contacts and will be sending a test text message next week.  Please respond. To update your alert preferences, go to communications then to manage alerts.

Fleece Jackets - Fleece jackets are in the process of being ordered.  It usually takes a week to receive them. They then go to Sew Impressions to be monogrammed.

Stoller Fundraiser: The Stoller Sale starts September 9th, and ends on September 23rd.  Remember that delicious pastry with many flavors, blueberry, strawberry, cinnamon, and some new flavors! And don’t forget the cheese bread!  Information has been sent home for your viewing. Then pickup of these items will be Tuesday, October 15, from 2:45-4:30.

Grandparents Day - Thank you to all the Grandparents who were able to attend our Grandparents Day celebration.  Grandparents play a very important role in their grandchildren’s lives. They are a wonderful support system for our families.

Full Scale Safety Drill - Our drill has been rescheduled for Monday the 23rd. We are required to do a full scale drill once every 3 years.  Part of this full scale drill is family reunification. I will contact families over the Option C Alert System.  It will be labeled as a drill and will ask that those parents who are available to come to the location stated and pick up their student(s).  A bus will then transport the rest and everyone will return to St. Bernard School.

Homework: Your child should have homework every night.  It is expected that each child should read or be read to each night.  Most students will have spelling words to study also. It seems to work well if a particular time is set aside to do homework each day.  So at the least, they should have reading and spelling. We appreciate your support.

Peace to you and yours,

Mary Obringer

Thank You
