Dear St. Bernard Families,
The cold and wind has arrived! Please dress your children for the weather as we will continue to go outside for recess if not raining or above 20 degrees. That means snow boots, gloves, and hats or hoods.
We have had a few students out sick, so we are encouraging students to use hand sanitizers and soap, and cough into your elbow to stop the spread of germs.
St. Bernard will be in session December 20 and 21st to finish up the 2nd Quarter, even though Buckeye Central is not. So, no busing, please bring in your children. In January, Buckeye Central will be in session the 3rd and 4th, but we will start January 4th.
Thanksgiving Lunch – We are having a Thanksgiving lunch on November 20 for all students. Following that we will have an Advent Retreat.
Recycling – We have the 2019 Recycling Schedule already! Families of Gr. 5-7, please sign up for one of these dates to help at recycling. These are Saturday mornings, 8:00 – Noon. We are paid to do this, which helps pay for our field trips. The dates are: February 2, May 4, August 3, or November 2. Send in a note or call the office by Nov. 20 and we will write you down.
Christmas Eve Children’s Liturgy – sign up sheet is going home today! What a special time for your children to participate and celebrate this great feast! Please send in soon.
Community Counseling Services, Inc. – Cindy Wallis of Community Counseling Services presented a program to students K – 8 on internet safety, digital footprint and other topics. We have partnered with Community Counseling Services to provide counseling to our students. If you are concerned about your child or if you feel they need to talk with someone, please let us know and we will send out a referral sheet to Community Counseling Services. Your child will then be seen, and you will not be charged for the service.
Peace to you and yours,
Primary students have been learning about advent and Christmas this week. Next week, we will study the 3 Wise Men.
Elementary students are learning about the Second Commandment and how important it is to be reverent to God and holy things.
Middle School students are learning about family life and how parents sacrifice for their children, why rules are important, and why they need to listen to their parents.
